A Lasting Relationship
By: Terry D. Scheerer
On a vast, windswept shore
I mourn, oh, no more
For the love that now I've lost
and of what may be the cost.
Love's trust once more is broken
With words but a fleeting token
Of things that were so softly said
Amid hidden pleasures within our bed.
Thus, I have set firm my mind
And now, hope but to find
In my death, the one true friend
That may be faithful, until the end.
