Interview with Peggy Gerber
By: Kevin 'Myth Master' Adams

Greetings to all my little minions out there! As always, you ask me to go out and capture you an amazing interview and podcast, and I always lovingly provide just that.
Let's meet our newest victim Peggy Gerber who was the winner of the ope contract challenge! Read her bio below and then go and listen to me toy with her on the podcast. At the very bottom are some links you should also check out.
Enjoy, you heathens.
When I was seventeen years old, I took an aptitude test that told me my ideal career would be writing about science. Well, it sounded too hard to me, so I threw that piece of paper in the garbage and got on with my life. Now all these years later, one of my favorite things to do is write stories about science. Well, science fiction, really.
In college, I majored in Communications, got a bunch of crappy jobs, and later went back to school to become a registered dietitian. It is really important to me to eat healthily and exercise because we don't get any do-overs, so if we don't take care of ourselves now, we will be screwed later.
Although it is not the popular thing to say, I feel like my greatest accomplishment in life are my three children. They have grown up as kind, compassionate adults and have chosen jobs that help other people. My older daughter is a doctor in the pediatric emergency room; my son is a lawyer for a non-profit, and my youngest is a genetic counselor. After they grew up, I became a foster parent for ten years and have cared for thirteen children. I am still involved with children as I have four grandchildren that I adore.
My writing career actually began three years ago when my youngest child flew the coop. On a whim, I joined a writing class and was reminded of how much I liked to write. After six months, I began submitting my work, and after a whole lot of rejections, I started getting acceptances. I now have about eighty stories and poems published online and in anthologies, and I am an author of an actual book.
As the 2021 winner Open Contract Challenge, my poetry chapbook "Stumbling in CrazyTown" was published. I am very grateful for this competition, especially David K.Montoya and Walter Esselman. Before the competition, I didn't know if I had it in me to write a book, but now that I have, I've gone on and written a second poetry book. I have also written a children's book, and my next goal is to put all my stories together in a collection.
My book, "Stumbling in CrazyTown" deals with my struggles with an anxiety disorder, and it is not something I want to shy away from. It is so important to normalize mental health, banish the stigma, and knock it into people's heads that mental health is just health. Because of the publication of this book, I have become an advocate for mental health and spreading the word that it is okay not to be okay. I am grateful for any podcast or interview I am invited to because that is the way to spread the message.
Well, she sounds like she's ready to deal with the on, the only….the MYTH MASTER!
Woot!
Let's GO!
Yours in torture,
MM ;)
