How does a man measure the sum of his lifetime in only a few words?
How can he tell the world what he has seen and done in just a small space?
What will he have time to share, with so much to be said?
What can he teach us that we can use in our own lives?
A man can say to live a full life, to live ‘your’ life.
A man can say to cherish your friends and family.
Choose your paths wisely and when you tread them, walk with pride.
Choose your words wisely and when you say them, say them carefully.
Bring honesty and integrity with you, wherever you go.
Bring humility and tolerance along as well.
Be prepared to give and earn respect, loyalty and praise.
Be prepared to lose money, time, love and friends.
Know that your work is never finished, at your job or at home.
Know that your efforts and trials may never be noted.
When a woman is in need, be kind and provide your shoulder.
When a man is in need, provide advice and the bond of trust.
Considering marriage, communicate, listen and use love with each.
Considering marriage, money is never the answer, only each other.
Where there are children, remember to play, smile and pretend.
Where there are children, there will never be a greater love.
As a father, I can tell you that grown men do cry.
As a man, I can tell you that we all need to sometimes.
How does a man measure his lifetime? Day by day, step by step.
How can he tell the world what he has seen and done? He cannot.
He must show them, with his own actions and with his own life,
He must live the right life and fight the good fight.
Yesterday is already gone, and tomorrow may never come.
Live for today and be who you truly are.
Tell any one you love, “I Love You”
Tell any one you respect, “Thank You”
