“Here we go.” George said.
“Thank you dear,” Karen said as she turned and took the bag from her husband.
As she turned back toward the child, the little girl had a huge smile with anticipation and opened her Halloween bag to allow Karen to put a treat inside.
“Go ahead honey say it just one more time,” Karen asked with a soft smile.
Once again the little Angel looked up at the McGills with her big blue eyes and said, "Twick or Tweat!"
They both agreed that the little Angel was just the cutest thing they had seen all evening. Karen picked an apple from the Halloween bag, and shined it up with her apron, and dropped it into the little girl's Treat Bag.
“There ya go sweetie, Happy Halloween,” Karen said as she gave the little angel a big smile.
But the little Angel's face turns sad, and then looked in her bag. George knelt down and asked, “What's the matter darlin?”
The little angel looked up at the couple and said, “Thanks a lot, you just broke my cookies!”
George and Karen looked at each other with disbelief at the little girl's behavior. They watched as the little angel turned and headed back to the street as she mumbled under her breath, “Stupid ass broke me cookies.”
