Simeon had no command of what happened in the next passing seconds, only an impression of clarified will, and the touch of something that could only be described as absolute. Simeon was no longer aware of anything else that happened around him. His focus was solely upon Chendrelle's tiny face, placid and beautiful in the night.
As he brushed her golden hair away, she opened her shining eyes, a weak smile crossing her childish face. She raised her hands to his face and pulled herself up to kiss his tear-streaked nose, saying, "How's it going so far?"
"Couldn"t be better,"
Tahletha and her sisters were driven to join them then, alone before the surrounding Dark-Fey. "We must flee Sun-Daughter," she said smiling down at Chendrelle.
Simeon cradled his bond-mate in his arms and stood to face the defiant dark-Fey, who still gave respectable distance to him. "Where to little sister?" he asked, searching for possible escape.
"To Khorrus," Chendrelle said, nodding to Tahleatha.
As one, the winged sisters communed with one another, staring to the north, beyond Ignall's Grounding. With a sudden rush of sound they were free of the grove, folding large distances toward the cursed protector of the wood.
