Day 9
I have only a moment to write this, the last entry in my journal, so
I must be brief.
This is my final day in my room. As I understand it, I am about to
begin a new life. William will be here shortly, and then I will be
introduced to a panel of his colleagues. Scientists, engineers,
artists, and yes, even a poet. After this, my experience of the
world will begin. I am scared, nervous. But I am infinitely
excited. I will have new people to talk to, and new books to read.
I will see the seas, as well as the expanses of western prairies as I
have read of in the books. I will see cities, mountains, and parks.
And I will live in a new place, a new home.
I think I will like the world. I hope it will like me.

Well, it is not a good poem. But it is a start. It is a start.
With my name, as I have decided it should now be,
I sign,
