The End:Story Two
End of the Line Part 3
By: David K. Montoya

When he reached the chain linked fence that housed the large main, I realized that the others were standing next to me giving Michael a play by play of what was happening outside. I yelled out to my son that we needed to get to the professor before he was ripped to pieces! The professor started fighting back. He began to climb up the fence he went over the other side, next to the main. The professor was safe from the Unluckys for now; he was caged away from the demons. They tried to bust through the chain link, but were unable to.

The professor then did something odd. He climbed on top of the main and stood on the center which was a large flat pipe. He began to wave his hands trying to flag us down--at least that was what I thought at first. After the old man was sure he had our attention, the professor reached into his pants and pulled out his hand gun. He gripped the gun with both hands and lowered it down aiming at the large main underneath him. I yelled out to my son to go faster, but Michael wanted to know why and asked about the professor. I told him it was too late for him and if we didn’t move we’d all be dead! The bus leapt forward, the sound of bodies hitting against the metal frame echoing inside.

I turned back and looked out the window. The professor was still aiming at the main. I saw the fear on his bloody face as he glared down at the metal frame beneath him. Finally the professor looked up into the sky and started saying something, still holding the gun with both hands and raised it above his head for some time before he lowered it back at the main.

At that moment I realized what he was planning to do. I yelled out to everyone in the bus to get down and for Michael to drive faster. I turned back to the window and saw that the professor had stopped speaking and had his head bowed. He raised his head to the sky and screamed out something then pulled the trigger. I saw him being blow apart before I ducked down from the blast, but that did little good as the concussion of the explosion rocked the bus forward, which caused my head to slam back against the steel leg of a bench and quickly everything went black.
